ΝΕΑ ΥΟΡΚΗ. Σκαρφάλωσε σε μια νέα κορυφή του κόσμου ο πολυβραβευμένος πολιτικός μηχανικός των ουρανοξυστών και συνάμα ηγέτης της ομογένειας και συγγραφέας Μανόλης (Εμμανουήλ) Ε. Βεληβασάκης.
Και δεν πρόκειται για κάποιο νέο ουρανοξύστη και ούτε για κάποια κορυφή του Ψηλορείτη, αλλά για το βιβλιοπωλείο της Amazon με το νέο του βιβλίο «Climbing the Peaks of the World: A Journey of Adventure, Perspective and Purpose».
Στην ουσία πρόκειται για την μετάφραση του βιβλίου του «Σκαρφαλώνοντας Στις Κορυφές του Κόσμου – Ηράκλειο – Νέα Υόρκη» που κυκλοφόρησε προ ενός έτους και το οποίο κατέγραψε ρεκόρ βιβλιoπαρουσιάσεων στην ιδιαίτερή του πατρίδα, στην λεβεντογέννα Κρήτη και στην ομογένεια.
Οι βιβλιοπαρουσιάσεις σε συνδυασμό με τις συνεντεύξεις του συγγραφέα στα ομογενειακά και ελλαδικά μέσα ενημέρωσης ανέδειξαν τις πολύτιμες αξίες του βιβλίου και το πιο σημαντικό το κατέταξαν στα εκλεκτά πετραδάκια της ελληνοαμερικανικής γραμματείας.
Η αγγλική έκδοση «Climbing the Peaks of the World: A Journey of Adventure, Perspective and Purpose» κυκλοφόρησε στις 24 Ιουνίου 2026 στο βιβλιοπωλείο της Amazon σε τρεις μορφές, ως σκληρόδετο έναντι $29.99, ως βιβλίο τσέπης έναντι $19.99 και σε ψηφιακή μορφή δωρεάν για τους συνδρομητές της Kindle Unlimited.
Το «Climbing the Peaks of the World: A Journey of Adventure, Perspective and Purpose» αποτέλεσε νέο ρεκόρ, καθώς κυκλοφόρησε σε λιγότερο από έναν χρόνο από την πρωτότυπη έκδοση.
Η απόφαση του συγγραφέα να εκδώσει το βιβλίο στην μητρική του γλώσσα, αντί της αγγλικής, που ήταν πιο εύκολη έκανε την διαφορά και ήρθε να διαλαλήσει σε όλους τους τόνους ότι η μητρική γλώσσα είναι μητέρα των γλωσσών και συνάμα να υπενθυμίσει στους ηγέτες της ομογένειας και στις νεότερες γενιές ότι η ελληνική γλώσσα αποτελεί το όχημα για την διατήρηση και μεταλαμπάδευση των ηθών και των εθίμων και την καλλιέργεια της ελληνικής συνείδησης στις νεότερες γενιές των Ελληνοαμερικανών.
Τέλος να σημειώσουμε ότι το εν λόγω βιβλίο αποτελεί μια επί πλέον έκδοση του οργανισμού Πολιτιστική Κρήτη (Cultural Crete Press) και αυτό έχει την δική του σημασία.
